Every year, at the end of August, I take my kids to Walmart to pick out their favorite Back To School must-haves and pack a backpack! Since we homeschool, this is more a fun tradition than a necessity. They enjoy shopping for new things to put in their backpacks which makes the first official day of school feel more fun and helps them gear up for the school year. I let them pick out things like new books, crayons, bullet journals, etc and they get to pick out fun things too like a new water bottle or pencil box.
