Do you ride a motorcycle? More women than ever before are hitting the open road and enjoying the freedom and style that comes with riding a motorcycle. It’s a great way to get from A to B or taking a motorcycle road trip! No matter where you go, riding a motorcycle gives you a sense of independence, it’s a great hobby and it’s also a wonderful way to meet fellow biker-moms!

If you’ve only recently passed your motorcycle test, you may be wondering what to wear. Of course, you must take safety into consideration when finding your perfect motorcycling outfit, after all, in the event of a crash your outfit could save your life. If you’ve been in a motorcycle crash, call and speak to a motorcycle accident attorney in El Paso as soon as possible.

So, if you’re wondering what to wear on your motorcycle, keep reading! We’ll tell you how to look good and ride safely with these motorcycle-style tips.

A helmet

The ultimate motorcycle accessory. It’s also incredibly dangerous and idiotic not to wear one! Whether you want to look good or not, you must always wear a helmet when you’re on your bike. A full-face helmet with a full visor is recommended. Wearing a helmet will protect your head in the event of a crash and save you from catastrophic brain injuries. You may want to experiment with colours and combinations, however, always look for quality over aesthetics.

Never Wear Shorts!

Imagine being thrown from your bike and skidding along the hot tarmac at speed – and you’re wearing ¾ length pants or shorts…it doesn’t bear thinking about. Wearing long pants is always recommended for motorcyclists.

If you have thick denim jeans they should provide you with some protection, however, leathers are usually recommended. Not only will your legs be protected in the event of a collision, but your legs won’t get burnt from the heat of the exhaust or engine.

Motorcycle Boots

Biker boots are all the rage right now, especially now that boots season is here. A good, thick pair of motorcycle boots that complement your long pants will keep you safe and looking stylish. You could always invest in a pair of genuine biker boots, or something thick and high quality to protect your ankles.

Keep your arms covered

Again, keeping your skin covered will provide you with plenty of protection from the elements or if you should you fall from your bike. A long-sleeved leather jacket will always look great and it’ll provide you with adequate protection as long as it’s high-quality leather or an equivalent, synthetic material. Wearing a long-sleeved leather jacket also means your skin is less likely to get nicked and scratched by road debris as you make your way between traffic.

And finally, gloves are essential

Don’t forget your gloves! Many motorcycle riders neglect the importance of gloves when riding. Thick, leather gloves will keep your hands warm and protected from the elements and of course if you have an accident. It’s our instinct to put our hands out when we fall, and if you’re doing this at speed from a motorcycle, your hands and skin are going to need plenty of protection. So even if it’s not cold, don’t forget your cool gloves!

We hope this post has helped you figure out what to wear on a motorcycle! Looking good is just as important as safety!
