Are you trying to figure out how to prepare your child for kindergarten? If yes, you should check out our guide by clicking right here.

Did you know, German immigrants opened the very first kindergartens in the US?

The word translates from German to English as children’s garden! Are you sending your child to the big school soon or will you be homeschooling?

There are many things to do in order to prepare your child to move from preschool on to kindergarten, in this list we’ll run through some of them. Let’s get started:

1. Keep Your Child Healthy

This year’s global pandemic only reminds us of how important it is to ensure that our kid’s immune systems are healthy.

Before your little one goes to school, it’s worth stocking up on all our favorite immune-boosting supplements to ensure your child will bring home fewer colds and viruses.

You may also decide that your child also needs a check-up from your pediatrician to ensure they are in good health.

2. Talk to Your Child About the Future

It’s likely that your child has heard all sorts of stories from older siblings, friends, or other parents.

Make sure you speak to them yourself to let them know what to expect from kindergarten. Ask them to always try their best and tell them how proud you are that they’re doing to a new school.

Ask questions to find out how your little one is feeling about this change and discuss ways to cope with these uncertain times.

3. Set Dependable Routines

Children thrive on routine as it helps them feel in control of their ever-changing world. During the lockdown, it feels impossible to keep kids on a strict routine.

Routine is a great way to ensure your child gets into the swing of waking up for kindergarten and going to bed in time to get enough sleep!

It’s also a good idea to encourage your child to do an hour of homework or reading every single day. Check out these kindergarten exercises for more ideas.

Better yet, if your child sees you reading, they will be more inclined to do so themselves!

4. Shop for Kindergarten Supplies

Hopefully, your kindergarten will be in touch to let you know everything that is needed for the start of school.

Why not take your little one with you to pick up their new supplies? This is an exciting time for them and they’ll likely enjoy choosing from the different brands available.

Furthermore, this (hopefully) gives your children a sense that these belongings are theirs and that they should look after them well!

Now You Know How to Prepare Your Child for Kindergarten

Not only is this a big change for your child, but it’s also a big change for you. Getting your child up, ready, and out of the door on time is demanding.

But, if you know how to prepare your child for kindergarten, then you have done some of the legwork already!
