Wine and Cocooning (For When It's Just Too Peopley Out There)

If you are sincere with yourself, there are times when you just want to take a break from life and disappear into oblivion for a few days while doing your own thing. Many of you have been in this position for extended periods, probably because of your hectic lives. Routine can become monotonous and stale, and that is where having great unwinding sessions comes in.

Going for spa appointments or a pedicure is a great way to loosen up. However, most of you may not manage to do this every week because of financial or time constraints. This is especially true if you have kids!

So what is an introvert to do when you just need to relax, hideaway, and get some peace and quiet?

Time For Wine And Cocooning

Lack of adequate time or money doesn’t mean that you can’t have a fun, refreshing experience in the comfort of your own home. For many years wine has been at the center of great evenings after a long tiring day, and this is not about to change anytime soon. Drinking wine eases up your body and puts you in a great mood. I love to kick back with my husband and a glass of wine in the evenings after we get all the kids to bed.

A surge in “cocooning” stems from the sophistication in technology that has made it so much easier for you to shrink into your cocoon and still access everything that you love. Cocooning can be home-based, whereby you are doing things such as watching movies indoors rather than going to the movie theater, live-streaming a concert rather than going out to see it, opening a bottle of wine with the hubs in front of a cozy fire rather than going to your local bar. So go ahead and grab yourself a new throw blanket and get ready to do some cocooning!

Sometimes it’s just too peopley out there, so go ahead and combine cocooning and wine for a fantastic evening of restful bliss with your husband. There are thousands of different brands of wine that you can select from, but why not go for the brand that leaves nothing but an impeccable taste in your mouth. Because you work very hard, you deserve the very best.

Consider Millesima, a French family company that strives to provide you with a wide range of high-end wines, expert wine knowledge, as well as top-grade service. They have a wide range of fine wines for you to select from, including; white, red, sparkling, and rosé wines. The headquarters are in Bordeaux, and this way, they have a close relationship with their top producers and source from them directly. You can buy their wines online or visit their shop in NYC.

Put on your favorite episode of Friends, live stream a concert, or listen to the latest Coldplay album; and enjoy your glass of delicious Bordeaux wine with the hubs. You will notice that all the negative energy and exhaustion will slowly seep out from you. In its place, you will have a brighter mind space, and you will feel a sense of peace.

When you choose cocooning, you don’t need to worry about spending money or getting sick from all the germs out there! Sometimes it’s nice to spend the perfect night in, safe, cozy, and germ-free. Staying home is highly underrated!

If you are more of a book person, cocooning is for you too. Grab your nuggets of wisdom with a glass of wine and a soft, cozy blanket.

The Grace of Enough
by Haley Stewart

A great book I’m loving right now is Haley Stewart’s book The Grace of Enough: Pursuing Less and Living More in a Throwaway Culture.

In this book, Haley shares essential elements of intentional Christian living that will enhance your life and teach you how to live more fully while overcoming the effects of today’s “throwaway” culture. In this fast-paced world, it’s time to step back and learn how to experience a deeper satisfaction while growing stronger in your faith.

So go ahead and hibernate for the winter! I won’t judge you for cocooning.
